Writing prompt: Balcony

Ready to write?
You glide along the canal as the sun begins to set, looking forward to the evening ahead. It won’t be long now until you reach tonight’s event.
But, as you look up, you see a figure step out of the shadows and onto the balcony above. You can no longer go to the event, everything’s changed.
Reach for your notebook and capture what happens.
Try writing 100 words or setting a timer for five to fifteen minutes and see where your pen leads. Your piece can take any form. A story. A poem. A play. Anything that comes to you.
We’ve got some great tips for using writing prompts here. Happy writing!
