New year, wonderful you

Happy New Year!
No doubt, like me, you’ve seen lots of messages flying around encouraging you to use this New Year to be a ‘new you’. Although it can feel wonderful to get fitter, secure a new job or become a published author — congratulations if you do — you are already fabulously you.
You are the only one with your exact experiences, your skills, your personality, your heart, your soul. You are unique. You are an original.
Close your eyes and treasure who you are for a moment. Feel the air as you breathe it in and out. Feel your heart beat. Know that you are meant to be here. That you matter.
If no one has told you yet this year, you are special.
Of course there are always things that can be worked on, new things that can be achieved, stories that can be written, paintings finished, businesses started. But, when you first treasure yourself, as you are now, you make true progress. Growth is rewarding.
Pursue your dreams because you believe in yourself and know you’re worth it.
Step forward often. Your dreams are closer every day.
If you want to publish a book, write a page today. If you want a new job, start searching or begin work on a new skill. If you want to be more organised, treat yourself to a planner and jot down the things you want to do this week.
However, don’t wait until you’re ‘perfect’ or have achieved your goals to start living. Make the most of every day, take time for self care and enjoy yourself as often as you can.
Use this New Year to give you fresh impetus, renew your creative energy and open your mind to new ideas, but take the whole you for the whole ride!
